I find out that, for a while, I have been having a thing for all types of sandwich, especially panini and grilled cheese sandwich. You can argue that strictly speaking panini can not be categorized as sandwich but I include this item here.
Before I couldn't care less about sandwich and I think they are a very generic and plain type of food, just like how I used to think bagel, croissant and pizza. But the more I eat them, the more difference I find out between the good sandwiches and the not-so-good ones.
Therefore, I generated this conclusion: food tasting is experience-based. The more experience you have in terms of encounter certain kind of food, the more knowledge you have in terms of the taste of that food, and the more say you have in terms of the authenticity of that food. So for somebody say "I have tasted the best pancake/ croissant/ pizza/ bagel/ sushi/ hot pot/ pasta/ burger", she/he has to at least had a fair amount of pancake/ croissant/ pizza/ bagel/ sushi/ hot pot/ pasta/ burger before voice that word. By hearing that, we can also know what kind of food the person has more knowledge at.
Random, right? I know!
